Well of course you can, just ask IBM and all the other corporations. But when i tried bazaar 2.0 as a part of porting SafePt to Win32 i also found the Launchpad site, on which the Ubuntu guys are apparently developing a lot of their stuff. Among other things there is also support for people to pledge money for "bounties", things they would like fixed in any given project.
One of the bountiss striked me as interesting, a bounty to implement a relationship overview for the Glom "FileMaker/Access" like system, there was a pointer to implement it using goocanvas and that has worked out very well, apart for some problems with the GObject signalling system which doesn't seem to like C++ very much, but the initial rendering seems to work fine. I have attached a screenshot with my current progress. And it is all published in my branch.
There still is some way to go, but so far it looks like it is quite "easy" to do.
